215 North Main

According to Judge Will D. Suiter, early records show that mercantile businessmen Johns and Patrick were the first to occupy this building. Early in September 1907, H. L. Cannaday Dry Goods opened their doors at this location. P.G. Penn owned the building and on July 21, 1914, he sold it to J.F. Steed for $1,160 plus 17 shares of First National Bank stock.

The building sold again on October 24, 1961, to S.A. Rhoades and Billy Jack Rhoades. Rhoades later sold to Hillman Lindsey on February 9, 1962, for $6,000. Terms were 94 months at $85/month at 7% interest. The building was then used by Hardy Hamm for auto parts and stayed in the Lindsay family until 1997.

Dub and Lori Forsythe purchased the building on November 20, 1997, and opened Main Street Gallery. They restored the building using the original floor, ceiling, and skylights.
